But, as we have seen in Chapter Nine, sin is not being less than God, but rather separation from God, rebellion against God, or the lack of love for God. Sin is turning away from God, and neglecting or refusing to live for Him. In that earlier chapter we discussed sin and mentioned holiness. Now we need to give some thought to the nature of human holiness. MEANING OF HUMAN HOLINESS Biblical scholars have long sought to discern the meaning of the term “holy” by tracing its etymological origin, that
